I deem it a privilege to welcome the members of the Asian Broadcasting Union who are coming together to participate in the ABU-Asia-Pacific Robot Contest 2008 Pune.

This Contest which began in 2002 has become exceedingly popular both at the national and international level due to the continuous support and contribution of member countries, in particular of NHK Japan who have conducted the Games since inception.

The MIT Pune have partnered with Doordarshan since 2005 and as co-hosts in 2008 have made every effort to ensure its success.

I hope that witnessing the international Robocon Contest 2008 at Pune becomes a memorable experience.
